Wonderstone
Rhyolite is a form of very soft lava. Iron has stained this rock with fascinating patterns of red, white, and yellow. Wonderstone Rhyolite is very soft and can be readily carved with a dremel tool.
Indian fetishes are often made from this stone. I love to tumble wonderstone in a rock tumbler WITHOUT GRIT for a few days, as it rounds up very readily. Wonder stone should be tumbled by itself. This rhyolite does not take a shine in a rock tumbler, though it shines up nicely on a set of diamond grinding wheels.
