River Rocks, Palm Sized, Unpolished
These are palm sized Mexican Beach Pebbles, a type of basalt lava: flat and rounded. They absorb oil readily and are heat resistant, so they are excellent as massage stones, or for use with scented oils.
These rocks are unpolished, and the surface is very smooth from the action of the waves on the beach. They are grey when I pick them up and they turn dark grey, or dark green, or black when wet or after being used with oil or lotion. The photo shows a rock that I have rubbed some oil into on one end. These rocks take a fair polish in a rock tumbler.
