Annual Grit Co-op

Once a year I order a huge quantity of grit and polish as a co-op with my rock shop buddies. The huge size of the order results in a substantial volume discount which I pass along to you. We are expecting to order about 3000 pounds of grit and polish this year. I am placing my order on July 31st, 2008. I expect to receive the grit about August 21st 2008, and will get it mailed immediately after that. Please see Joseph`s blog for details about recommended amounts of grit/polish. Bulk Rocks

These are the same high quality rocks as listed elsewhere on the site, but in larger sized stones. These are suitable for slabbing, cabbing, or tumbling. I sell these for lower prices because I dont have a lot of labor in them. Size is typically baseball to softball size. Available stones include agate, jasper, petrified wood, geodes, thunder eggs, white quartz, green aventurine, and other clever rocks.

Grit and Polish

I am temporarily out of most kinds of grit and polish until the annual grit co-op in August. Rocks are polished by tumbling in successively finer abrasives and polishes until a high luster shine is achieved. I recommend a four stage process using three grits followed by a polish.

Jasper

Jasper is one of the prettiest rocks that you can polish in a rock tumbler. It polishes well with agate and chalcedony. New Haven Purple Jasper is my hottest selling item.

Tumbling Rocks

These tumbling rocks have been crushed and sized to be suitable for tumbling in a 3 pound rock tumbler barrel. I offer agate, jasper, petrified wood, quartz, and much more: including a standard grade of mixed tumbling rocks; and a premium blend which is a mix of my finest stones for tumbling.
